This is a 2-bedroom, 1-bath, cottage that is perfect for a family of 3 or 4.
Located away from the ocean beaches, the cottage is closer to the bay with a path down to the tidal creek which is a great place launch a kayak or small boat at high tide. At low tide, it's just mud so there's no swimming.
Offering an open floor plan with Wi-fi Internet access, Cable TV, a land-line telephone with free nationwide long-distance calling, gas BBQ, and table and chairs on the back deck. There is also a window air-conditioner in the living room.
The kitchen has a 4-burner gas stove with oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, toaster, a drip coffeemaker with filters, pots and pans and dishes.
This house rents on a Sunday-to-Sunday basis during the summer season. Maximum occupancy is 5.
"Lovely simple cottage set in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. The cottage has a wonderfully open layout and is equipped with all that we needed. The bed is really comfy. I especially loved having coffee & meals out on the back patio. Lots of pretty paths surround the cottage & great restaurants are nearby. The Boulangerie just down the road is extraordinary!" - Lisa M. Margaretville, NY
"This is a lovely little cottage in a quiet and private area. The neighboring properties aren’t right on top of you, which was especially nice during Covid. Also nice during Covid was how uncluttered the house was and therefore easy to clean. There’s a public trail down to the salt marsh that’s very quiet and made for a good daily dog walk. The patio space out back was great for morning coffee and evening meals. It was great to be able to do laundry, but since there isn’t a dryer, I’d bring extra clean and dry towels for a week’s stay if there’s rain in the forecast and you won’t be able to hang things outside to dry fully. It was so nice to spend a week away, and the cottage was so quiet." -P. Davies , Chelmsford, MA
"My wife and I came to Cape Cod for a workshop at the Cape Cod Institute. We had reserved a room at a recommended B & B and stayed there for a few nights - but our room was SO small and cramped that we just couldn't stay. One of our fellow participants suggested Surf Side Cottages where she was staying, we immediately called and were able to reserve the last cottage they had available. We were sent to Black Fish Creek Cottage and it is heavenly. It's further from the beach from their other cottages (we have to drive) but it is so beautifully equipped that we are ecstatic we came. For the same price we paid at the B & B in the tiniest room known to man, we now have 2 bedrooms, a bath, full kitchen, living room and patio with chairs and grill. The cottage is nestled in the woods and there is only one other cottage close by. It is private, peaceful and relaxing. Peter was the person who greeted us - so friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. Technically, for this cottage, it is your responsibility to bring bedding and towels but because we were so last minute, they gladly provided them - no extra charge! We had a question about the Wi-Fi and Peter drove over personally to take care of it. He's very knowledgeable about the area and offered great suggestions. We are so pleased with our cottage and highly recommend Black Fish Creek Cottage." - Taffie. B - Pittsburgh, PA
"We truly enjoyed the spacious and modern cottage at black fish creek. The kitchen is well equipped. The area is very quiet and peaceful this time of year, we rested and enjoyed the cottage all day sat. We'll definitely come back." --- A reviewer from Pawtauket, RI
"There are so many things that were perfect about our summer rental at Black Fish Creek Cottage. The house itself is a spacious two bedroom open concept home with vaulted ceilings and an updated kitchen and bathroom and is located in a nice secluded spot a few blocks off the main road. We also happily took advantage of the spacious outside shower, the gas grill on the back porch, and the washing machine in the basement that also had plenty of storage area for our bikes and rafts. An unexpected bonus was that basic cable and direct internet access were also available and used! The price was excellent - especially when compared to other rentals that we had looked at online. We made excellent use of the paved 50+ mile bike trail that has an access point very close to the house as well as Marconi Beach that is just on the other side of the main road. By being centrally located near Wellfleet, we also had easy drives to all the points that interested us and that the excellent management team of Armand and Lisa Audette steered us to: Provincetown with its shopping, restaurants, and whale watching tours; Wellfleet with its shopping, clay tennis court club, and party boat fishing; and Orleans where Nauset Beach and Bay side beaches are nearby. There are great restaurants all around, and we even saw gray seals on a couple of occasions swimming with the beach goers. We had a fantastic vacation that was centered around our stay at Black Fish Creek Cottage, and we definitely look forward to staying there again the next time we visit Cape Cod!" ---Tom H from Virginia
"4 of us spent a delightful two weeks at Black Fish Creek Cottage. The location on a small hill under the pines was wonderfully quiet yet convenient to beaches, summer theatre and many good restaurants. We especially appreciated the excellent kitchen, deck and outdoor shower. The cottage is cozy and comfortable when it rains with excellent TV and radio connections as well. Armand and Lisa of Surfside were instantly responsive to any questions or needs which were few." ---Dab, MA
"We stayed here for an off-season weekend. The cottage was clean and nicely refurbished. The location was perfect for us as we could bring our kayaks down to Black Fish Creek and paddle out to Wellfleet Bay. The cottage was nicely situated on top of a hill with a breeze. Would highly recommend it."
